When Guitar Gypsy and Bundy Browne get together, the result is something more than a blues band—it’s a living, breathing conversation between old souls and well-worn strings.
Their sound is rooted in the blues but isn’t afraid to wander: swampy funk, dusty rock ‘n’ roll, soulful originals, and reimagined deep cuts that feel familiar and fresh all at once.
Guitar Gypsy brings the heat—raw, road-tested licks and a voice full of gravel and grace. A former sideman for John Lee Hooker, he’s got the kind of feel you can’t fake, and the stories to match.
Bundy Browne is all heart and tone—Portola Valley-born, La Honda-based, and always chasing the perfect chord. His original songs blend Americana soul with a wink and a twist, while his covers dig deep into the overlooked corners of classic records.
Together, they’ve built a band of kindred spirits:
Jeff Stratton on bass—multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and veteran of the Billy Preston band (and yes, another John Lee Hooker alum),
and a rotating cast of talented players who jump in for the joy of it.
